Level 3 – Extended Diploma Sports Performance, Coaching & Fitness

The Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport (Development, Coaching and Fitness route) is a 2 year programme which provides a vocational insight into various areas of the sports industry and education. It provides a solid foundation in a wide variety of sporting contexts enabling you to develop essential skills for gaining employment in the sports industry or progressing further in education. This route carries UCAS points which enables you to apply for university as well as strong work experience elements should you wish to pursue a more work based pathway.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade A-C or equivalent.

May take exceptions.

Assessment methods

Written reports, practical assessments, portfolios, presentations, posters/leaflets and various online assessments.

Future opportunities

As the level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma is equivalent to 3 A Levels; successful candidates may progress to higher education, work or other vocational opportunities.

Further information

Further information: Learners will have the opportunity to train and play in an academy/college football league. They will be getting 6 hours a week elite training, developing technique, fitness and all around footballing ability. In the teams you will get opportunities to travel to academy training grounds like St George’s Park where England train.
